A traditional Chinese painting by Li Jiao, a young artist from Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND), has been added to the Lahore Museum's permanent collection in Pakistan, bringing contemporary Chinese art to one of South Asia's most prominent cultural institutions.
Titled Flower Shadows · Curtain, the Chinese ink painting uses delicate brushwork to convey the subtle beauty and artistic sensibilities of traditional Chinese aesthetics.
The work was first exhibited at a Chinese cultural exhibition marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Lahore at the Lahore Museum, the exhibition featured nearly 100 works of calligraphy, painting and handicrafts.
Following an academic review by the exhibition organizing committee and the Lahore Museum, 20 works were selected for permanent collection.
