  • The 15th Wuxi Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China opened on Sept 22, tasked with reviewing the past five years, setting goals for the next five years and electing a new municipal committee and disciplinary inspection commission.

  • Wuxi aims to achieve major gains in economic strength, technological innovation capacity, and overall urban competitiveness, and to make significant progress toward building a strong, prosperous, beautiful and high-quality modern Wuxi and to basically realize socialist modernization.

  • Jiang Feng, Wuxi's Party secretary, called on Xinwu district to serve as a new center of urban development, a hub for emerging industries, and a cluster for technological innovation.

  • Jiang made the remarks on Sept 22 during panel discussions with two delegations to the 15th Wuxi Municipal Congress of the CPC. While praising the new progress and achievements in the district, he urged WND to set ambitious goals, strive for excellence, and dare to scale new heights.

  • WND officials led a team to the Xinwu District Public Security Bureau for an inspection tour on Sept 20. They visited the Intelligence and Command Center and discussed ways to improve work efficiency through big data technologies at a meeting. They emphasized the importance of protecting the public and safeguarding businesses, and underlined the need for the police to comprehensively improve the capability of fulfilling their duties and raise the level of risk mitigation.

  • WND officials visited the Xinwu District People's Court and Xinwu District People's Procuratorate, inspecting platforms including the intellectual property protection center and the enterprise assistance service center on Sept 21. They received briefings on intellectual property protection, family dispute resolution, judicial support for enterprises, and the protection of minors.

  • The officials emphasized the need to effectively utilize legal platforms for targeted enterprise services, innovate the "judicial +" model to safeguard minors, improve the collaborative mechanism in protecting the minors, and strengthen the judicial team to ensure high-quality judicial services. support for regional development.

  • In August alone, WND's foreign trade hit 67.7 billion yuan ($10.11 billion), surpassing 60 billion yuan for the first time, marking 33 straight months of growth, and making up nearly two-thirds of Wuxi's total. In the first eight months of this year, the district's foreign trade totaled 423.8 billion yuan, up 44 percent year on year — 14 percentage points higher than the city's average growth rate — accounting for 60.9 percent of the city's total.

  • WND Venture Capital has recently secured support from the China Development Bank under new policy-based financial instruments, obtaining 2.536 billion yuan ($377 million) in funding. This funding is specifically allocated for the construction of the Huahong FAB9B project. This marks the first such loan to land in Wuxi in 2026 and stands as the largest single policy-based financial instrument loan in the province this year. This substantial financial support injects strong momentum into Wuxi's integrated circuit industry.

  • Jiangsu Deep Blue Aerospace, a leading commercial space company in WND, announced the completion of two rounds of financing, totaling nearly 2 billion yuan ($297 million). This reflects the capital market's strong interest in the strategic emerging industry of commercial space. Notably, local investment entities such as WND Venture Capital and Wuxi Capital joined the investor lineup, demonstrating firm confidence in Deep Blue Aerospace's technological capabilities and development prospects. The funds will be mainly used for the R&D and industrialization of the company's two major launch vehicle series.

  • GEI Consulting has released the GEI China Nezha Enterprise Research Report 2026. Seven WND-based companies — namely Motorevo, T-OnE Photonics, Uninova, Chengheng Micro, Huahong Semiconductor, Pioneer Semiconductor Research, and LinkPowerIC — made the 2025 GEI China Nezha Enterprise list, accounting for 35 percent of Wuxi's total of 20 and ranking first among all districts in the city. This once again highlights WND's hardcore strength as the city's main front for technological innovation and a source of new quality productive forces.

  • The Ministry of Industry and Information Technologyy announced the list of the first batch of high-standard digital parks, with WND selected as a comprehensive park and becoming the only park from Wuxi to make the list. This signifies national recognition of WND's achievements in industrial digital transformation and intelligent management as well as a full acknowledgment of the district's efforts in deepening the integration of digital and real economies and promoting the intelligent, green and integrated growth of the leading industries.

  • WND (Xinwu district) has been named one of the first demonstration counties (cities, districts) of financial ecosystem in Jiangsu province, the only one in Wuxi to receive this designation. This achievement resulted from the district’s efforts to systematically advance the integrated growth of Party building, credit building, law-based business environment, risk prevention, and service-driven development.

  • Wuxi Dexter Biotechnology, a domestic maternal and infant brand based in WND, was selected on the list of the China Brand Plan program of the People's Daily, with an agreement signing ceremony taking place on Sept 22. This marked the company's debut on a national media platform, making it part of the lineup of Chinese brands. Notably, Dexter is the first brand from Jiangsu province to be selected for this prestigious program.

  • The Weibo Music Awards kicked off on Sept 23 at the Wuxi Olympic Sports Center, bringing together over 70 pop, rock, folk, rap and guofeng artists. The event spotlighted Wuxi's street life, food and Jiangnan autumn.

  • Road upgrades around the Wuxi Olympic Sports Center are now complete. The 90-day project upgraded Gonghu Avenue, Gancheng Road, Shangxian Road, Hongzhou Road and nearby walkways, giving the area a fresh new look.
