  • Wuxi's first MEMS probe card R&D and manufacturing project was launched in WND on Sept 4. The project will expand WND's capabilities in key testing materials, making the IC supply chain more resilient and secure. It will also accelerate breakthroughs in core technologies and IP development, providing stronger support for a more self-reliant and higher-value semiconductor industry in WND.

  • Ahead of China's 42nd Teachers' Day, WND officials met with teachers and education workers on Sept 9 to thank them for their dedication and wish them a happy Teachers' Day. WND hopes teachers will continue to inspire, nurture and empower every child to reach their full potential.

  • WND is fostering a stronger culture of giving with a donation event, bringing people together to support those in need, spread warmth and kindness, and contribute to the district's development.

  • WND held a meeting on Sept 10 to advance its Taihu Lake management efforts, further strengthening accountability and ensuring the latest measures are fully implemented. The goal is to help keep Taihu Lake safe through its 19th consecutive summer.

  • WND is stepping up efforts to strengthen flood and typhoon preparedness. At a Sept 10 meeting, officials reviewed this year's work and the progress made in addressing risks in low-lying areas, while mapping out upcoming projects, annual construction plans and timelines. Participants also discussed project implementation, funding, construction quality and smart flood-control systems.

  • The East China sales headquarters of Sichuan Viee Drinks & Food is coming to WND, with the project agreement signed on Sept 8. It is the first health-focused, premium consumer brand brought to WND through its partnership with L Catterton, a private equity firm backed by LVMH.

  • Excelland Robotics, based in WND, rang the bell on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Sept 9, becoming HKEX's first all-scenario commercial service robotics company. The milestone also marks WND's fourth IPO of 2026 — the highest number of new listings in Wuxi so far this year.

  • Enflame Technology made its debut on the STAR Market on Sept 11, backed by WND's early investment. The company established its East China headquarters in WND in 2024, tapping into the district's well-developed AI ecosystem to build a regional model for AI applications. WND has also teamed up with Enflame Technology to develop the Taihu Yixin Intelligent Computing Center, a next-generation AI computing platform designed to meet the needs of government, businesses and research institutions.

  • WND is stepping up investment attraction efforts to build stronger industrial clusters. From January to August, the district secured agreements for 18 major industrial projects, each receiving over 1 billion yuan ($149.07 million) in investment, totaling more than 94.5 billion yuan. WND is among the most successful districts in Wuxi in attracting major, high-value projects.

  • China's metal 3D printing industry is gaining momentum, with some domestic equipment makers already booked through the end of 2026. In the first half of the year, exports of Chinese-made metal 3D printing equipment surged 76% year-on-year. WND has been in the game for over a decade, with Falcon Tech calling the district home since 2012 and now a leading player in China's additive manufacturing industry.

  • The 8,000-square-meter artificial turf used for the "Village Super League" national finals in Rongjiang, Guizhou, was made by Vivaturf in Wuxi, more than 1,500 km away. Vivaturf is part of China Resources Recycling Group's Green Fiber Company, which was established in WND last April. Wuxi has also developed recyclable, infill-free artificial turf certified to FIFA Basic standards.

  • WND leads Wuxi in AI services, with 12 local companies included in Jiangsu's 2026 list of recommended AI service providers — the highest number among all districts and counties in the city. The companies span AI computing and data services, industry applications, key technologies and tools, and smart terminals.

  • A dream of reaching the stars takes flight through music. On Sept 10, Flying Apsaras was performed in its complete eight-movement form for the first time at Wuxi Symphony Hall in WND. The symphonic suite, the first of its kind in the 21st century to center on China's space program, turns the nation's timeless dream of reaching the skies into a sweeping musical journey.

  • WND education authorities launched a new program on Sept 10 to develop school principals with strong vision and leadership, teachers with deep expertise, and headteachers with the skills and dedication to support their students through systematic training.
