Nearly 1,000 developers gathered at the Moscone Center in San Francisco for AMD Advancing AI 2026 in July, taking part in hands-on sessions involving AI agents, multimodal applications, generative AI, GPU programming and AI application development.

What set the event apart was the source of the computing power behind these activities. Rather than relying on local data centers in the United States, all the computing resources used by participants were provided by a high-performance computing facility more than 10,000 kilometers away, built by a company in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as WND.

The cluster is part of the New Power AI Computing Center, launched on Dec 26, 2025. The center's first phase is equipped with 5,000 AMD Radeon PRO W7900D GPUs, providing flexible computing services for a range of applications, including AI inference, AI agents, scientific computing and graphics rendering.

During the two-day conference on July 22 and 23, teams from its parent company Cloud Factory Technology and New Power AI worked around the clock to ensure stable operations. The cluster ultimately supported 1,159 development environment launches for more than 900 active developers, achieving 100 percent core-service availability with zero failures or interruptions throughout the event.

The New Power AI Computing Center has also gained international experience beyond AMD's developer conference. It has previously provided computing support for more than 10 international events and competitions, including the ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge, AI DevMaster and Lablab Hackathon, serving more than 5,000 registered developers.
