The Wuxi Symphony Hall was filled to capacity on the evening of June 7 as the opening performance of the 2026 Wuxi Weekly Radio Concert series took center stage.
The Imperial Philharmonic Austria delivered an impressive performance under the baton of conductor Christoph Campestrini, joined by pianist Maximilian Flieder. Together, they brought a selection of timeless classical masterpieces to life, their music filling the hall with warmth and brilliance. The audience responded with thunderous applause and heartfelt cheers.
According to organizers, this year's concert series will bring together artistic forces from ten countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Russia. From June to November, a total of 12 high-quality performances are scheduled to be staged.
"I have been to Wuxi several times. It is a vibrant city with a wonderful musical atmosphere everywhere. With the new symphony hall, I am especially eager to perform here," said conductor Campestrini.
Following the Weekly Radio Concert series, the symphony hall will continue to feature internationally renowned artists, including the German Gents and Portuguese fado singer Cristina Branco.
