Wuxi Symphony Youth Alliance makes debut performance

The Wuxi Symphony Youth Alliance delivered its inaugural performance at Wuxi Boston International School, Jiangsu province, on May 19.

The concert began with the powerful piece Of Thunder and Steel. As the cheerful notes of the Doraemon No Uta filled the air, the audience was transported back to cherished childhood memories. Under the guidance of musicians from the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra, young performers of various ages delivered a touching rendition of Camille Saint-Saens' The Swan.

In the concert's second half, the symphony section captivated the audience with a series of timeless classics, including Felix Mendelssohn's Nocturne, Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King. The performance reached its pinnacle as the orchestra began My Motherland and I.

"We started rehearsing last semester, and I'm incredibly proud to perform on stage," said Zheng Tianhao, an eighth-grade student from the Wuxi United International School and a clarinet player with the Wuxi Symphony Youth Orchestra, a member of the Wuxi Symphony Youth Alliance.

He emphasized the unique opportunity the orchestra provides to engage with professional musicians from the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra, enhancing his musical education and performance skills.

On the same day, the Wuxi Symphony Youth Alliance welcomed a new collaboration as the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra signed a memorandum of friendly cooperation with Wuxi Boston International School. This agreement aims to establish a long-term partnership that promotes the integration of cultural arts education with international education.

The Wuxi Symphony Youth Alliance was established on May 30, 2025, through a collaborative effort led by the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra. This initiative seeks to foster talent development and performance opportunities by connecting the Wuxi Symphony Youth Orchestra with other outstanding student orchestras.
