The 2026 Taihu Bay Biopharmaceutical Expo opened on May 8 in Wuxi, placing a strong focus on three key sectors: innovative pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and medical cosmetology.

Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, or WND, made a strong appearance, with 28 enterprises participating, including AstraZeneca and GE Healthcare, alongside two industrial parks – the Wuxi International Life-Science Innovation Campus and Jiangnan Beauty Bay.

A dedicated nuclear medicine zone was also set up at the fair, featuring presentations from four leading local companies that presented their latest achievements. Their presence highlighted WND's strong capabilities across the entire nuclear medicine value chain, from source innovation and research and development to production and clinical application.
The district showcased its comprehensive strengths and an innovation-driven ecosystem in biomedicine, which includes areas such as cell and gene therapy, brain-computer interfaces, and synthetic biology. A development pattern is emerging in WND that features leading enterprises, a robust innovation pipeline, and collaboration across the entire industrial chain.
