IRCAD China opened in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) on April 2, marking a new chapter in the integration of international medical education and localized clinical practice.

Founded in 1994 in Strasbourg, France, by Professor Jacques Marescaux, IRCAD is an internationally renowned training institute specializing in minimally invasive surgery. Over the past three decades, it has developed a globally acclaimed training model and has emerged as a leading platform for surgical education.

As the China branch of the institute, IRCAD China fully adopts the established teaching system and advanced training methodologies from its French headquarters. Its goal is to provide a world-class training platform for medical professionals in China.

With a total floor area of about 29,000 square meters, the center is equipped with a laparoscopic surgery training laboratory that supports 18 procedures simultaneously, a DSA hybrid operating room, a robotic surgery training zone and a large lecture hall.

At the opening ceremony, certificates were presented to more than 10 experts, establishing IRCAD China's scientific committee and core academic team. The appointed experts represent multiple disciplines, including minimally invasive surgery, anesthesiology and nursing.
