A signing ceremony for the Jiangsu company of GL Events Greater China was held in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as WND, on March 26.
Founded in 1978, the French company's operations span venue management, exhibition organization, live events and sports event services. It has supported major international events including Olympic Games, G20 Summit, and the Cannes Film Festival.
The new Jiangsu company is expected to concentrate on the organization of a diverse array of exhibitions and conventions in Wuxi, including the sixth Asian Small Animal Specialist Veterinary Conference, while also exploring future opportunities to attract additional high-quality international events to the city.
Romain Peiffert, CEO of GL Events Greater China, said the establishment of the Jiangsu company is one of the group's key moves to further reinforce its presence in the Chinese market. He said WND offers strong locational advantages, a solid industrial base and a favorable business environment, giving the company confidence in its long-term development.
According to Peiffert, the company plans to introduce a greater number of international sporting events and city-level themed activities to support high-quality local development.
WND has maintained close ties with France over the years and is the home of numerous well-known French-invested companies, including Schneider Electric, Legrand, Danone, and Faurecia.
