  • WND held a meeting on Feb 28 to advance the "Beautiful Xinwu" initiative and launch a new round of comprehensive Taihu Lake management. During this meeting, the district reviewed its progress and outlined new steps to deepen pollution control and promote greener, more sustainable development.

  • WND held a workplace safety meeting on March 3 to reinforce accountability and strengthen safety measures across the district. The goal is to ensure a safe and stable environment for high-quality development and to provide a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).

  • The Party Building Leading Group of WND met on March 3 to launch a study and education program aimed at fostering a sound understanding of performance evaluation among officials and encouraging a more responsible approach to governance.

  • Executives from ams OSRAM's Opto Semiconductors division visited WND on March 5. As a global leader in lighting and sensor technology, the company is initiating a new phase of cooperation with the district, including expanding its Wuxi facility and bringing additional optoelectronics resources to the area.

  • At the Deep Blue Aerospace headquarters and final assembly base in WND, work on the Nebula-1 rocket is progressing steadily. The rocket aims to reach orbit and attempt a vertical first-stage recovery — an important step toward more routine and reusable space transport.

  • WND continued its strong investment momentum in February, signing 20 major projects with a combined investment of 57.7 billion yuan ($8.35 billion). Following the 15 projects secured in January, the district has attracted a total of 35 projects so far this year, with total investment reaching 73.3 billion yuan.

  • WND topped the city in the number of projects selected for the 2025 Wuxi Key Laboratory program, with 15 projects approved, setting a new annual record for the district.

  • Breathe in the fresh spring air and enjoy a relaxing walk along the Xinzhou Wuyun Forest Trail in Xinzhou Ecological Park, now recognized as a provincial-level forest trail in WND. It combines thoughtful design with natural beauty.

  • The K11 Select Shopping & Art Center in Taihu New City, WND, has reached major construction milestones: the main structure is topped out, secondary structures are fully completed, curtain walls are 80% installed, and mechanical and electrical systems are 90% finished. The focus for the first half of the year will be on interior fit-out and landscaping to ensure smooth completion in the second half.

  • The Taibo Temple Fair, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, was held again this year in WND. A highlight of the event was a new Huishan clay figurines exhibit with nearly 500 handcrafted figures. Created by heritage ambassadors Wang Zhaozheng, Lyu Jun, and local artisans, it vividly brought the fair's lively scenes to life.
