By 2025, Germany had established 83 foreign-funded enterprises in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, creating a strong cluster of industry leaders including Bosch, Siemens, Infineon, Vibracoustic, and Vaillant. Total German investments in the district reached $3.89 billion, with registered capital of $1.95 billion.

For Germany's pragmatic and precision-driven hidden champions, investment decisions hinge on long-term certainty. Besides cost factors, they prioritize transparent regulations, stable expectations, comprehensive industrial support systems, and strong market prospects — all of which define the core strengths of WND.

In 2004, Gaudlitz Plastic Technologies established its first overseas production base in WND. At the time, China's automotive industry was still in its early stages, but the company recognized the vast potential of the Chinese market and took a bold step. Today, Gaudlitz has achieved consistent revenue growth and maintains a leading position in its niche market. In 2025, it announced an additional investment of 200 million yuan ($28.94 million) to build a new production line for new energy vehicle components.

Enterprises affiliated with Siemens have also formed a strong industrial footprint in WND, including medium-voltage switchgear, X-ray vacuum technology, energy surge arresters, and related innovation centers. Their operations cover power distribution, healthcare, and automation, forming a comprehensive and coordinated development approach. Siemens Medium Voltage Switching Technologies (Wuxi) is the largest factory in China for Siemens' electrical and automation division in China, working in close coordination with its German headquarters to support global markets.

In September 2024, construction began on Siemens' medium voltage intelligent digital factory in Wuxi. Covering a total floor area of 120,000 square meters, the project will be Siemens' third smart digital factory in China.

From traditional manufacturing to high-end intelligent production, and from single-factory operations to full industrial chain layouts, WND's advanced manufacturing ecosystem continues to serve as a powerful magnet for leading German enterprises seeking long-term growth.
