Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as WND, recorded strong growth in foreign trade in 2025, with total imports and exports reaching 451.9 billion yuan ($65.13 billion), up 14.8 percent year on year — 7.2 percentage points higher than the city's average growth rate.
The district accounted for 54.5 percent of Wuxi's total foreign trade, an increase of 3.4 percentage points from the previous year, and 7.6 percent of Jiangsu's total, up 0.6 percentage points.
The quality of growth continued to improve as well. High-tech products made up 66.9 percent of the district's total exports in 2025 and accounted for 78.7 percent of the city's high-tech exports, underscoring the rising global competitiveness of made-in-WND hi-tech products.
Market diversification efforts also delivered tangible results. Trade links expanded to include 203 countries and regions in 2025. Trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative accounted for 54.8 percent of the district's total, rising 18.9 percent year on year.
The foreign trade ecosystem continued to expand. A total of 2,775 enterprises in WND recorded import and export activity in 2025. To help companies expand their global reach, the district has built platforms and arranged for companies to participate in major international exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo and the China Import and Export Fair.

The comprehensive bonded zone in WND also posted standout performance, with imports and exports totaling 223.93 billion yuan in 2025, up 28.7 percent year on year. Its trade volume ranked second in Jiangsu province and seventh nationwide.
