50 R&D institutions have been established by WND IoT companies. 12 R&D institutions have been established by state-owned communication companies and top universities, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and Tsinghua University. Wuxi institutions have also been established by overseas giants, including Siemens and Alps (an IoT research institution established in Sweden by WSN Group) and further IoT-based research institutions for medical treatment and environmental protection.
WND has accumulated some 50,000 IoT-related talents and prestigious experts, and continues to shine in national key scientific and technological projects. The district has also invested over 2 billion yuan to build public IoT platforms, and has produced 16 self-established brands accredited by the country.
WND will continue to integrate resources from various R&D institutions and public technology platforms for the establishment of an IoT industry service platform with its own proprietary features. It will further cooperate with IoT associations and commercial organizations, and host market-oriented communication and exchange activities. Talent recruitment mechanisms will continue to be improved, and more training centers and agencies will be established to meet the future demand of much-needed talent.
