Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) used the 140th China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou from Oct 15 to 19 to pursue new investment opportunities, connecting with more than 80 domestic and international companies and discussing several prospective partnerships.
The district organized investment promotion teams to capitalize on the fair, turning its exhibition area — featuring 47 companies across 90 booths — into a platform for showcasing WND's manufacturing capabilities and attracting investment.
The teams visited exhibitors in general machinery, new energy, electronic information and intelligent manufacturing, introducing WND's industrial strengths, business environment and relevant industry policies.
The outreach also extended beyond the exhibition halls to the headquarters of companies already invested in WND. During discussions with GRG Metrology & Test Group, the teams explored opportunities to expand testing capabilities. They also worked with Midea Little Swan to advance plans for completing its 1.8-billion-yuan ($270 million) high-end manufacturing project by the end of this year, with a focus on ensuring effective service and support. Talks with Amway's Botanical Research Center focused on upgrading its capabilities and commercializing functional plant-based ingredients.
The investment drive further extended from Guangzhou into the Pearl River Delta. Taking advantage of the WESEMiBay Semiconductor Ecosystem Expo 2026, WND teams traveled to Shenzhen to engage with businesses in semiconductor equipment, components, materials, power devices and computing chips.
Through targeted outreach at major industry events and direct engagement with companies, WND is seeking to build stronger industrial partnerships and attract quality projects to support its high-tech manufacturing ecosystem.
