  • Wuxi hosted a meeting on advancing the Belt and Road Initiative on June 24, mapping out key priorities for the next phase of development.

  • Following years of fruitful collaboration, Wuxi and BYD met on June 23 to take their partnership to the next level. Building on national strategies to boost development of smart connected new energy vehicles and advanced chips, and leveraging Wuxi's pilot status for automobile circulation and consumption reform, they will combine the city's strengths in manufacturing, computing power and finance with BYD's strengths in branding, innovation and market reach.

  • Wuxi launched its 2026 "Reading the City" campaign on June 24, unveiling themed city routes and an initiative to boost production of short dramas. WND also introduced its "Three 100" plan: 100 city ambassadors, 100 city-reading events, and 100 outstanding works showcasing the city's unique character.

  • WND officials visited the Wuxi Computing Equipment (AI Infrastructure) Industrial Park on June 25 to review construction progress and listen to updates from key enterprises. As China's first industrial park dedicated to modular AI data center (AIDC) equipment, the project aims to become a national hub for computing power equipment manufacturing, with industrial output and trade each projected to exceed 100 billion yuan ($14.7 billion).

  • The first meeting of the second council of the Hunan University Wuxi Intelligent Control Research Institute was held in WND on June 24. Over the past five years, the institute has grown to 185 members, generated more than 100 million yuan in industry-funded research revenue in 2025, secured over 90 invention patents, won a project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two major Ministry of Industry and Information Technology research programs, and received the first prize of the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Science and Technology Award – underscoring its growing innovation capacity and industrial impact.

  • WND is strengthening its commercial space industry. At a supply chain matchmaking event on June 25, leading companies including Deep Blue Aerospace joined more than 20 companies from across the commercial space supply chain specializing in rockets, satellites and payloads, engines and core components, satellite operations, and data services. WND is the only district in Wuxi with a commercial space ecosystem spanning the entire industrial chain, from rockets and satellites to networks and end-user applications.

  • Siemens Healthineers signed an agreement to expand its R&D and manufacturing presence in WND on June 22 at the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing. Focusing on core components for high-end medical imaging equipment, the project will strengthen WND's role as a key global manufacturing hub for Siemens Healthineers while accelerating the growth of the local medical device industry.

  • At the 2026 Wuxi-Zhengzhou Symposium on Ecosystem Cooperation for Smart Interactive Micro-Dramas, WND forged a series of partnerships spanning micro-drama production, culture and tourism IP development, and digital marketing.

  • Developed by CQC Digital Technology Wuxi in WND, the new "CCIC-Q Mark 3.0" platform allows shoppers to scan a QR code to trace premium fresh products, including salmon, cod, and sea cucumber, from their source to the shelf. What's next? Farm produce, packaged foods, and even electronics. The future of quality control is transparent, traceable, and smarter than ever.

  • WND made its debut as a delegation at the 9th China-Eurasia Expo, which opened in Urumqi, Xinjiang, on June 25. With a 300-square-meter exhibition hall, WND showcased its strengths in high-end medical equipment, green energy, popular consumer brands and intelligent manufacturing, alongside a lineup of leading tech innovators. More than an exhibition, it signals WND's commitment to expanding westward and strengthening ties with markets across Asia and Europe.

  • To mark its third anniversary, the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra presented four days of unforgettable performances from June 18 to 21. Featuring internationally acclaimed artists and intimate chamber concerts, the special concert series offered audiences a rich musical experience while celebrating the orchestra's rapid growth into a vibrant force in the city's cultural scene.

  • The Xin'an Sub-District Community Health Service Center became the first of its kind in Wuxi to issue a prescription for a food for special medical purposes (FSMP). The milestone also highlights WND's efforts to advance medical-industry collaboration and bring high-quality nutrition services closer to residents.

  • The west zone of Wuxi MixC opened on June 26, bringing together more than 200 brands in a vibrant waterfront setting designed for shopping, dining and lifestyle experiences. Over 60% of the brands are making their city or regional debut, including five national first stores, 10 East China first stores, 25 Jiangsu first stores and more than 110 Wuxi first stores, further enriching the city's retail landscape.

  • The scent of zongzi, lively folk traditions and a rich lineup of tourism experiences made this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday a hit in WND. From Meili Ancient Town to its scenic wetlands and parks, the district recorded 400,000+ visits during the holiday, marking a 41.95% year-on-year increase.

  • Wuxi launched its "Music Lights Up the City" campaign at Wuxi Symphony Hall on June 18, in celebration of the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra's third anniversary. The orchestra also unveiled its 2026/27 season, featuring world-class performances and a range of new cultural initiatives that will bring the world's finest music to local audiences.
