Construction on the first phase of the Wuxi Computing Equipment (AI Infrastructure) Industrial Park began on May 6.
As the country's first industrial park dedicated to computing equipment, the project has a planned area of around 1,000 mu (about 66.7 hectares). It is expected to generate an annual output value of 120 billion yuan ($17.6 billion).
The park aims to establish a full industrial ecosystem covering the design, research, development, manufacturing, sales and delivery of modular AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) complete systems and core components.
Since the project agreement was signed on Jan 4, all preliminary work — including site selection, design planning, land clearance, land transfer and bidding — was completed within just four months.
The first-phase project will focus on attracting enterprises engaged in computing equipment system integration, core component manufacturing, research and design.
The project, scheduled for December, is set to significantly enhance Wuxi's computing power supply capacity.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, agreements for several AIDC projects were also signed. Covering the entire industrial chain from design and certification to manufacturing, logistics, installation and delivery, the projects are expected to strengthen Wuxi's role as a key global hub for computing equipment.
