Rongda Korea, a semiconductor company from South Korea, signed an agreement on March 26 to establish its China headquarters in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND), marking a further step in the district's efforts to strengthen its integrated circuit industry.
The project involves a total investment of $20 million and will introduce a range of semiconductor-related projects, including plasma processors and electrostatic heaters.
Wen Bingshu, chairman of Ronda Korea, said WND is an ideal location for the company to expand its presence in China, thanks to its well-developed integrated circuit supply chain, vibrant innovation ecosystem and strong business environment.
The new headquarters is expected to further enhance the district's capabilities in semiconductor equipment and key components.
Integrated circuits are one of WND's landmark industries. The district has built a relatively complete industrial chain covering design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, as well as equipment and materials.
