MOVION held a signing ceremony in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as WND, on Jan 5 for its global micro-mobility headquarters project.
With a total planned investment of 350 million yuan ($50.16 million), the project involves the construction of a global operations center integrating research, development, testing, marketing and warehousing.
Focusing on smart mobility solutions covering distances from 500 meters to 50 kilometers, the center will use Southeast Asia as its primary base while serving markets across the Southern Hemisphere.
Once fully operational, MOVION expects annual exports of electric motorcycles to reach 1 million units within three years.
David Khan, strategic investment advisor at EZI Capital, the investor, said WND's strong industrial ecosystem, business-friendly environment and efficient, pragmatic approach to project support have given the company great confidence in the project's potential and prospects.
The headquarters will concentrate on a full range of new-energy micro-mobility products, including electric scooters, two-wheeled electric motorcycles and three-wheeled electric vehicles.
The facility will be equipped with intelligent design and testing systems, as well as modern logistics and warehousing infrastructure, as it aims to become a key global player and a benchmark base for smart manufacturing in the new-energy micro-mobility sector, Khan said.
New energy is one of WND's flagship industries. The district has built an increasingly complete industrial chain and attracted a growing cluster of high-quality enterprises.
