Wuxi celebrated International Volunteer Day with a citywide event in WND on Dec 2. Under the theme "Gathering Volunteer Strength for a Better Society", the event revealed a new logo for Wuxi's volunteer services and featured a lively marketplace with volunteer opportunities, cultural activities, and science outreach.

A delegation from Stellantis, the world's fourth-largest automotive manufacturer and a Fortune Global 500 company, visited WND on Dec 3, discussing project implementation and R&D-industry integration. A new project introduced during the visit is expected to further extend Stellantis' layout and help build a comprehensive automotive industry chain.

WND held its monthly review meeting for major industrial projects on Dec 1. From January to October, 10 provincial-level projects and 56 city-level projects completed 9.44 billion yuan ($1.33 billion) and 27.14 billion yuan, respectively, in investment, both ahead of schedule. All projects worth over 1 billion yuan filed from 2022-24 have been secured, with most already under construction, and investment has topped 94.78 billion yuan. WND has filed 20 major projects for 2025, meeting its annual target ahead of time.

WND companies have recently been listed among the winners of the 2025 Jiangsu Provincial Governor Quality Award. Wuxi Boton Technology claimed an award, while CR Micro received a nomination, with the total number of selected firms ranking first in Wuxi.

The 2025 list of first-of-its-kind major equipment, jointly released by the industry and information technology bureaus of Suzhou, Wuxi, and Changzhou, has been published. WND secured 15 entries, half of Wuxi's total and the most among all districts. To date, the district has obtained recognition for 44 Jiangsu provincial first-of-its-kind major equipment products and 49 at the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou level, both ranking first citywide.

WND-based Unicomp Technology was listed among the "Top 50 STAR Market Value Leaders" at the 2025 Science and Technology Innovation Conference, recognizing its strength in intelligent industrial X-ray inspection equipment and core components.

The Jiangsu Data Administration recently released the 2025 list of exemplary cases in digital economy innovation. WND had three cases selected, accounting for 60 percent of Wuxi's total. The results highlight the district's solid capabilities in creating a vibrant, diversified digital economy.

The 2025 National Cheerleading League (Wuxi Stop) and the 2025 Jiangsu Cheerleading Championships opened on Nov 29 at WND's Bodu River Sports Center. Over the course of two days, 114 teams and more than 2,000 athletes and coaches from around China gave it their all.

The overhaul of Keyan North Road (from Jinghui East Road to Linghu Avenue) has been completed, and the route is now open to traffic. After serving the area for more than a decade, the road underwent a two-month upgrade to improve capacity, enhance travel experience, and refresh the surrounding urban landscape. Its reopening comes just in time to support the upcoming delivery of Phases 5 and 6 of the Wuxi (National) Software Park.
