Denso, the largest automotive components manufacturer in Japan, signed a new project agreement involving automotive thermal systems and engine system components in the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) on Oct 17.

The strategic initiative marks a major step in expanding Denso's product lineup in WND, further consolidating the district's key role in the company's global supply chain.

Founded in 1949, Denso is the world's second largest and Japan's largest automotive parts manufacturer. It ranked 305th on the Fortune Global 500 list in 2024.

Since the establishment of Denso Ten Electronics Wuxi in 2004 and Wuxi Denso Automotive Products in 2005, the company has become deeply integrated into WND's industrial ecosystem and an important pillar supporting the high-quality development of the local automotive industry.

Eiji Inoue, president of Denso China, said that over the past two decades, Denso has witnessed WND's excellent business environment and well-developed industrial infrastructure. WND has become one of Denso's key strategic bases in China. Denso will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, leveraging WND's strong industrial clusters to enhance collaboration between R&D and manufacturing, he said.

Currently, more than 230 Japanese-funded enterprises operate in WND. Fifty-two of Japan's Fortune Global 500 companies have invested over $11 billion in total in the district. The automotive parts industry, one of the district's landmark sectors, now includes over 300 enterprises.
