At the 25th China International Fair for Investment & Trade, which opened on Sept 8 in Xiamen, WND leaders joined the China (Jiangsu) – UK Investment and Cooperation Exchange, presenting the district and its China-Europe (Wuxi) Life Science Innovation Park. They pledged continued support and a first-class business environment for UK enterprises in China.

WND welcomed senior executives from 58.com, a Chinese classifieds marketplace, on Sept 6. Both sides signed agreements to strengthen cooperation in digital economy, modern services, and hard tech, ushering in a new stage of partnership to drive regional high-quality growth.

A UK biomedicine delegation led by Tang Song, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM, visited WND on Sept 10. Several leading UK biotech firms and institutions reached preliminary cooperation agreements with local companies. WND and the Investment Promotion Agency launched the WND (Frankfurt) Overseas Innovation Center in August 2024 to boost European investment.

Japanese packaging giant Zacros is investing 100 million yuan ($14.05 million) in WND to build its first China plant for high-performance liquid containers, which is set to start production next spring. WND now hosts 230+ Japanese firms, including 52 Fortune Global 500 companies with $11 billion invested.

Zentec Biotech, a newly established startup in WND, has launched its first product – a soluble microcrystal anti-itch patch. It provides rapid relief from mosquito bites in just one minute. The innovative product is now in industrial production and available on the market.

Guolian Trust recently launched the first tranche of its 2025 Feifeng-2 IP & Tech Innovation Asset-Backed Securities on the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors. With a shelf size of 500 million yuan ($70.2 million) and a two-year term, the initial 70-million-yuan tranche (370 days) marks the first-ever IP tech innovation ABS in China.

Wuxi's second scenario list in 2025 was recently released, with 23 entries from WND. Combined with the first list, WND leads the city with a total of 46 entries. With more than 50 scenarios actively developed, the district has successfully advanced 27 cooperation projects into implementation.

The Wuxi IoT Innovation Promotion Center, based in WND, has been shortlisted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for its role in advancing manufacturing digitalization – the sole entry from Wuxi.

Wuxi and Lianyungang played to a draw in the 11th round of the 2025 Jiangsu Football City League on Sept 6. Yao Jinbo, chairman of 58.com, attended the match in person, saying Wuxi feels like home, as many of the company's operations are based there. "I'm a fan of the Wuxi team and the first half was excellent!" he remarked.

The Wuxi Symphony Orchestra and the Inner Mongolia Art Theater Symphony Orchestra jointly presented a concert called Echoes of History, Great Victory at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China. The performance paid tribute to generations of aerospace scientists, engineers, and workers who have contributed to the country's space program, along with their families.

The "CCTV Cultural & Creative" store is about to open in Meili Ancient Town. Showcasing classic CCTV IP and local culture, the store offers creative gifts, themed merchandise from the 2025 Spring Festival Gala, and freshly brewed coffee – a treat for both culture and taste.

The Yancheng leg of a CCTV dance show recently kicked off, featuring 15 teams from across the region. WND's Wangzhuang sub-district team performed on stage, highlighting the district's dynamic spirit. Since 2019, WND has regularly hosted square dance competitions, significantly improving performance levels. Its teams won the 13th and 14th Wuxi Games and have achieved excellent results in multiple provincial and city-level contests.

Hongshan Experimental Primary School in WND has launched the city's first special education class. Ten students who struggle in regular classes now have a supportive learning environment, with a special education teacher working alongside resource and psychology staff to provide tailored instruction and class management.
