The Ruijin Hospital Yangtze River Delta Health Research Institute and Thermo Fisher Scientific signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) on Aug 9.
Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of WND, noted that the institute, jointly established by WND and Ruijin Hospital, serves as a key platform for scientific innovation and industrial collaboration. He expressed high hopes for the new partnership, which he expects to accelerate innovation outcomes in the biomedical industry.
Fang Mingjie, president of Thermo Fisher Scientific China, emphasized the company's commitment to advancing life sciences research, addressing complex analytical challenges, and boosting laboratory productivity. Leveraging this agreement, the two sides will deepen cooperation in areas such as advanced diagnostic medical devices, organoids, and cell and gene therapy.
The Ruijin Hospital Yangtze River Delta Health Research Institute is currently building seven advanced technology platforms, including a state-of-the-art proteomics testing and analysis facility, and has already made notable progress in medical device development, pioneering drug research, and AI-driven algorithm design.
Thermo Fisher Scientific, a Fortune Global 500 company, ranks first globally in the medical equipment and device sector and expressed interest in further collaborations with WND, citing the district's strong industrial ecosystem and vibrant innovation environment.
