The 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference kicked off in Shanghai, with nearly 20 companies from WND — including iFlytek, Enflame, Tezign, and XREAL — participating. During the event, WND signed a cooperation agreement with iFlytek to advance the development of multimodal large AI models, build an AI industry ecosystem, and empower digital transformation.

WND and Wuxi Metro Group deepened ties on July 26 with the signing of a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement and the unveiling of two joint industrial parks — one for rail transit and another for smart logistics. Agreements for nine additional projects were signed, spanning area co-development, investment, and industry collaboration.

WND recorded 210.3 billion yuan ($29.31 billion) in total imports and exports in the first half of 2025, up 15.5 percent year-on-year and 8.4 points higher than the city average. WND led all districts in Wuxi, accounting for 54.1 percent of the city's total foreign trade. Its enterprises are now trading with over 180 countries and regions, a record high.

LongShine Technology Group, based in WND, ranked No 1 worldwide in the latest BIRD-Bench evaluation with its self-developed AI-powered LongShine Jiugong Energy Data Analysis Agent. This marks a major milestone in LongShine's AI journey and highlights China's edge in enterprise-level, real-world AI applications.

WND Venture Capital was named "State-Owned Investment Institution of the Year" at the Golden Eagle Awards hosted by Securities Times. The group stood out among nearly 300 contenders for its strong investment track record and expertise.

Shao Jinhua, an entrepreneur from WND, was recently honored at a national ceremony in Beijing recognizing outstanding figures from the private sector. He was the only recipient from Wuxi to receive this prestigious title. A total of 100 private-sector and emerging social group representatives were honored for their contributions to China's development.

WND leads the city with 60 new technologies and products recognized by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu for 2025. The entries span IoT, ICs, biomedicine, advanced equipment, new energy, and materials, highlighting the district's strong momentum in emerging industries.

Of the 50 public service projects planned for 2025, 10 have already been completed ahead of schedule — with key initiatives like residential elevator installations, food safety checks in schools, and affordable housing exceeding expectations.
