The Bodu River Cultural Center opened to the public in Xinwu district, Wuxi, on June 28.
The modern cultural complex consists of three buildings: the Cultural Center to the north, the Library to the south, and the National Geography Exhibition Hall, along with a theater to the west. It blends history, innovation, and art into a single immersive space.

Within the atrium of the Cultural Center, the striking 3D installation "Phoenix Dances Over Bodu" hangs like a ribbon descending from the ceiling. Centered around water, this digital piece represents the 3,000-year history and lasting cultural significance of the Bodu River.
The 500-square-meter multi-purpose hall has an open design, perfect for small lectures, workshops, art fairs, and interactive activities. Flanking the space, a digital culture corridor equipped with large LCD touchscreens enables visitors to explore local heritage.
The Cultural Center features nine activity rooms: lively spaces for dance, opera, vocal, and instrumental arts on the first floor; quieter rooms for intangible cultural heritage, calligraphy, painting, and literature on the second floor. The third floor is dedicated to art exhibitions.
The Xinwu District Library, covering 4,300 square meters, offers a collection of 150,000 books and 400 seats. Its layout includes various zones: the first floor has social sciences, children's books, and areas for the visually impaired; the second floor features digital resources and periodicals; and the third floor houses natural sciences, general literature, and local documents.
The National Geography Exhibition Hall features a joint exhibition by the center and Chinese National Geography. The second floor houses a 600-square-meter multipurpose theater with 380 seats, providing a versatile space for performances such as stand-up comedy, small plays, lectures, and fashion shows.
