Wuxi Golden Arches Food, formerly Wuxi McDonald's Restaurants Food, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as Xinwu district, or WND, and the Wuxi Commerce Bureau on June 9.
Having first entered the Wuxi market in 1997, McDonald's is now planning to further expand its investment in the city. Over the next three years, Wuxi Golden Arches Food is expected to open more than 90 new restaurants, bringing the total number of McDonald's locations under its management to over 200.
The fast-food giant will also introduce drive-thru restaurants and smart digital restaurants in Wuxi. In addition, it will accelerate the digital transformation and low-carbon upgrading of its supply chain system, aiming to boost brand competitiveness and service capacity. These efforts will support the company's rapid growth while contributing to the high-quality development of Wuxi's service industry.
Zhang Jinwei, head of Xinwu district, noted that the district is committed to optimizing its business environment and advancing partnerships with leading multinational enterprises. He expressed hope that McDonald's would continue to respond to market demand, strengthen its local presence, and work with the district to explore innovative service models. The district, he added, offers a solid foundation for growth through its advanced commercial logistics network and robust food and beverage sector.
Wu Hui, a marketing officer at McDonald's China, praised the district's strategic location, talent resources, and strong business environment, which together provide an ideal ecosystem for McDonald's development and a gateway to a vast consumer market.
