Wuxi Murata Electronics marked its 30th anniversary and the opening of its third manufacturing plant with a ceremony held recently in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, or WND.
Murata Manufacturing, a global leader in electronic components, was among the first foreign-invested enterprises to establish operations in Wuxi. Since launching its first factory in 1995, Murata has played a significant role in China-Japan exchanges. Beyond advancing its technologies, the company has actively engaged in public welfare initiatives, contributing to local cultural, educational, and environmental development.

Over the past three decades, Murata has built a strong foundation in WND, establishing two major companies — Wuxi Murata Electronics and Murata Energy Device Wuxi — each with annual sales approaching 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion). With five production bases and the Murata Innovation Manufacturing Park, the company has become an indispensable partner to Wuxi and WND.
The first phase of the newly opened third plant represents an investment of $680 million. It is expected to strengthen Murata's production capacity and ensure the stable supply of high-quality products and services to meet global market demands. With the new facility, Wuxi Murata Electronics spans over 280,000 square meters of land.
Norio Nakajima, president of Murata, reaffirmed the company's commitment to the region, stating, "Wuxi is one of our most important bases in China and continues to grow steadily. Murata will remain dedicated to supporting its development, creating new value, and deepening cooperation with the local government and community to contribute to the region's economic and social progress."
