Infineon celebrated 30 years in WND with the opening of its new building on March 28. The new facility will boost market share and support Wuxi's goal of becoming a top-tier global IC hub. German Consul General in Shanghai Norbert Riedel and Infineon Technologies EVP George Lee attended the event. Since 1995, Infineon's Wuxi plant has become one of its largest IGBT production bases, serving NEVs and renewable energy.

Jiangnan Beauty Bay, a beauty and healthcare industrial park, officially opened in WND on April 2. Co-founded by the district and Jiangnan University, it serves as a hub for research, innovation, and incubation. The park's output hit 6.3 billion yuan ($866.47 million) in 2024, with a goal of surpassing 10 billion yuan this year and reaching 30 billion yuan in three years.

WND's leadership delegation visited several innovation hubs in Beijing from March 27 to 28, including the National Development and Reform Commision's Innovation-Driven Development Center, ZGC Science Park, and Wuxi Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Innovation Cooperation Center, to conduct research on Central State-owned enterprises and tech startups. Key deals signed with the China Investment Association and CGN Capital will accelerate the development of new quality productive forces and turn WND into a hub for industrial and technological innovation.

The only domestically developed rheological thrombectomy device expands treatment options for venous thrombosis intervention and highlights the company's advanced manufacturing capabilities.

The National Demonstration and Application Matching Conference for Major Scientific Research Achievements, part of the recent 2025 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference in Beijing, unveiled a series of achievements in embodied artificial intelligence (AI) recently. The WND-based Yangtze River Delta Intelligent Agriculture Research Institute was Jiangsu's only entity to be recognized, thanks to its general AI controller for agricultural robotics, the world's first.

Equipped with autonomous driving technology and a machine vision system, the controller aims at advancing the automation and intelligence of China's agricultural industry, marking a significant step towards high-quality development in Wuxi and improving the city's international competitiveness in the embodied AI robotics sector.

Sun Huaqin, a senior engineer at SK Hynix Semiconductor (China), has been recognized as a national model worker. The announcement was made by the Working Committee on Party and State Merit and Honor Commendation, which recently released the list of honorees for the national model worker and national advanced worker awards.

The 2024-2025 "Wuxi Cup" Elementary School Campus Football Super League finale wrapped up on April 1, with the WND representative team clinching the championship. The trophy served as a testament to the prowess of WND's young footballers as well as the progress the district has made in integrating sports with education.

The Cultural Center of WND's Wuyue Cultural Digital Sci-Tech Innovation Valley is set to be completed in June, with the entire first phase expected to be operational by October 2026. This groundbreaking project focuses on the cultural digital technology industry, leveraging resources from film, animation, and gaming. It aims to blend Wuyue's rich cultural legacy with digital transformation, creating a leading demonstration zone for innovation in China's digital entertainment industry.

The Educational Group of Jiangsu Meicun Senior High School was officially inaugurated in WND on April 2. The alliance includes Jiangsu Meicun Senior High School, Konggang Branch of Jiangsu Meicun Senior High School, Meili Junior High School, Meicun Experimental Middle School, Meicun Experimental Primary School, Wuxi Shuofang High School, and Shuofang Experimental Primary School.

Good news for WND! One of its rehabilitation hospitals has advanced to Second-Grade Class-A, while Xin'an Hospital has been recognized as a Second-Grade Class-B comprehensive hospital, marking a major milestone in the region's public healthcare sector.
