The inauguration ceremony of Gigalane's China headquarters took place in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District on March 20.
A KOSDAQ-listed company from South Korea, Gigalane specializes in semiconductor equipment and mobile communication modules. It has long maintained a leading position in LED etching equipment shipments. The newly established China headquarters features a demo product verification line and will take on Gigalane's semiconductor equipment operations in China, supplying products to markets worldwide. This move aims to strengthen Gigalane's global market share in semiconductor etching equipment and enhance its competitive edge.
"The entire renovation and equipment installation was completed in just four months," said Kim Hyun-je, Gigalane's chairman. He expressed gratitude for Wuxi's strong support and affirmed the company's commitment to deepening its presence in the city while fostering mutually beneficial cooperation between China and South Korea in the semiconductor industry.

The integrated circuit industry is a key pillar of Wuxi's economy, known for its early advantages, comprehensive ecosystem, and strong growth potential. In 2023, the city's integrated circuit companies above a designated scale achieved an industrial output value of 251.18 billion yuan ($34.58 billion), a 9.3 percent increase year-on-year. The WND alone contributed over 170 billion yuan, accounting for one-ninth of the national total.
Wuxi's ranking in the World Integrated Circuit Association's global competitiveness index has also risen, now securing third place among mainland Chinese cities.
