This Week in WND (2025/03/10-2025/03/14)

On March 11, GE Healthcare ultrasound Greater China headquarters and high-end medical equipment ecosystem project broke ground in WND. The project will introduce new production lines, and build innovation, service, and customer experience centers to advance healthcare in China and globally.

On March 8, WND leaders visited Yixing to learn how the Taihu Lake dredging project and Yaohu Town are excelling in ecological restoration and cultural tourism. The visit also aimed to strengthen planning for the Yixing-WND Cooperation Park, driving cross-regional innovation and high-quality economic development.

WND hosted a meeting to advance major industrial projects on March 13, addressing construction challenges and ensuring high-quality progress. In 2025, the district will intensify efforts to attract high-growth enterprises in IoT, IC, biomedicine, AI, and other fields. By February, two 1-billion-yuan ($138.3 million) projects had been registered, with at least five more projects targeted for Q1.

WND-based Norroy Bioscience has achieved a major breakthrough in nuclear medicine. Its kidney cancer diagnostic drug 68Ga-NYM005 has completed phase I/II clinical trials and entered the late-stage trials. With a growing cluster of innovative biotech firms, WND is emerging as a key hub for the future of nuclear medicine.

WND continues to lead the way! 25 WND-based enterprises have been recognized as key industrial chain leaders in Wuxi, accounting for a quarter of the city's total and more than any other district in the city. These industry pioneers play a vital role in integrating and driving forward key sectors like IoT, IC, biomedicine, high-end equipment, green tech, and new energy! 

On March 11, WND issued its first "Talent Housing Voucher" to eligible talents, marking the city's first housing subsidy voucher following the latest home purchase incentives. This initiative aims to attract top-tier talent while boosting the steady and healthy growth of the real estate market.

Hema NB (Neighbor Business), Freshippo's hard-discount brand, is coming to WND! Set to open in early June at Joy Market, the store will offer 3,000+ carefully selected products, from fresh groceries to daily essentials and ready-to-cook meals, bringing a smarter shopping experience to the community!

Another touch of green is coming to WND! The Link·Xi Green View project near the Daxigang Wetland Park, set to break ground in March, will blend tech displays, science sharing, and smart ecology, with designs that seamlessly integrate water, rivers, and the city.
