The launch ceremony for Xinwu district's 2024 "Our Festivals" series of events took place in Meili Ancient Town, Meicun sub-district on Jan 30. The initiative revolves around traditional Chinese festivals, aiming to showcase the rich cultural essence of these celebrations through a diverse array of activities.

In an effort to enhance cultural services for the public, Meicun called upon art enthusiasts in local communities, businesses, and schools to contribute performances for this year's festivities. These performances will be featured on stages across Meili Ancient Town, Meicun Erhu Culture Park, public squares, and communities.

The ceremony also included five activities. Calligraphers were on-site, creating festive couplets and writing the Chinese character for "good fortune", while residents penned their New Year wishes and extended blessings to family and friends. The New Year Intangible Cultural Heritage market offered residents the chance to explore traditional cultural artifacts and savor local cuisines. Additionally, a photography exhibition captured joyful and touching moments of the New Year celebrations.
