WND excels in launching major provincial-level projects

Jiangsu province has unveiled its list of major projects for 2024, which includes a total of nine industrial projects in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as Wuxi New District.

The combined investment in the projects amounts to 32.45 billion yuan ($4.55 billion), a year-on-year increase of 44.3 percent, while the planned investment for this year is 8.6 billion yuan, up 72 percent from the previous year.

A standout project representing the integrated circuit industry is the second phase of Huahong Semiconductor (Wuxi) Co Ltd. The company is the first IC development and manufacturing base established by Huahong Group outside Shanghai. The second phase will include the construction of a 12-inch chip production line with a monthly capacity of 83,000 chips.

The high-end photomask project funded by China Resources Microelectronics Co Ltd, a pioneer in photomask manufacturing in China, has also received provincial recognition. The project will enable the company to manufacture 60,000 photomasks from 90 nm to 28 nm annually.

In the field of intelligent equipment, Swedish industrial giant Atlas Copco's China headquarters for compressors also made the provincial list. The headquarters, expected to produce 163,000 compressors per year, will become the largest manufacturing and product development base for Atlas Copco's compressor business outside its headquarters in Belgium.

A production base for core parts used in automotive safety systems, which is funded by Taiwan-based Far East Group and the world's largest automotive safety supplier Autoliv, is a representative project in the automotive part sector. It spans approximately 41,000 square meters and is expected to produce around 20 million sets of core components annually.
