The automation R&D center is the fifth of its kind established by Schneider Electric in China. It will focus on developing next-generation industrial automation products and automated energy management.

Forty engineers will first work in the R&D center, with the headcount expected to grow to 100 by the end of the year.

Zhang Jinwei, head of Xinwu district, which is also known as Wuxi New District (WND), said the center demonstrates Schneider Electric's confidence in the district's development and will aid the growth of Xinwu's manufacturing industry.
