With the Lunar New Year approaching, Wuxi natives are busy preparing their favorite dishes for the Lunar New Year's Eve dinner.

One such dish is egg dumplings. Golden-yellow egg liquid immediately takes shape after being poured into a heated spoon, and then chopped meat is wrapped with the egg pancake, looking similar to a gold ingot.

People in Wuxi eat egg dumplings to pray for good fortune in the upcoming year.

Fried black carp and stir-fried water fennels are eaten to pray for a good harvest and diligent year.

Pork ribs with white radishes are also quite popular as they can help with digestion after eating so many dishes.
