A Peking Opera experience activity entitled "Open the Door of Art and Explore the Charm of National Essence: was held at the Hongshan Site Museum, Xinwu district of Wuxi on Aug 16.
The event, jointly organized by the Xinwu Cultural Center and Hongshan Site Museum, aimed to promote traditional culture and improve young people's understanding and appreciation of traditional Chinese art.
Teachers from the Wuxi Xunyunmeifang Peking Opera Troupe were invited to teach, interact with and perform for more than 30 children participating in the event.
The Hongshan Site Museum is built on the Qiuchengdun site of tombs for nobles of the Yue state (770-446 BC). Its architectural design is integrated with the surrounding environment and shaped like a bow and arrow. The museum explores the civilization of Wuxi and the origin of Wu culture.
