Two enterprises based in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District were listed among the top 50 Chinese companies in innovation capabilities by Forbes China recently.
They include the new energy equipment manufacturer Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co and the semiconductor power device maker Wuxi NCE Power Co.
The listed companies are involved in nine fields including new energy, software services, semiconductors, consumer electronics, artificial intelligence and hardware, synthetic biology, big health, retail, and agricultural technology.
This is the fifth year Forbes China has released the list to recognize the most innovative and quickly-growing companies in every field.

Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co was established in WND in 2002. With over 20 years of development, the company occupies the largest market share in lithium battery intelligent equipment in the world.
The company values technological research and development and product quality. It spends over 10 percent of its annual sales on research and development, and the proportion has now reached 15 percent, or over 1 billion yuan ($147.49 billion). The company has built three provincial R&D and innovation platforms, owns more than 1,600 authorized patents, and develops over 60 new products annually.

Wuxi NCE Power Co, established in 2013, focuses on the R&D and design of advanced semiconductor power devices and chips. The products are widely used in consumer electronics, automotive electronics, industrial electronics, new energy vehicles and charging piles, intelligent equipment manufacturing, photovoltaic new energy, and 5G. The company has been listed as a "Top 10 Chinese Semiconductor Power Device Enterprise" from 2016 to 20.
The "Key Technologies and Applications of Intelligent Power Driver Chip Design and Preparation" project, co-developed by the company, won the first prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2019 and the second prize of State Technology Invention Award in 2020.
