WND firm sees breakthrough in domestic ventilators

Wuxi Yoyong Sensing Inc, based in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, has produced China's first key component pressure sensor chip used in domestic ventilators after 14 months of research and development.

The sensor chip, the size of a fingernail, was developed with high accuracy with the margin of error required to be within 1 percent. In addition, the sensor is highly sensitive and can react immediately.

With the new sensor chip, more domestic non-invasive ventilators can be produced to meet increasing demands due to the COVID-19 epidemic, according to officials.

The company has received two batches of orders for the new products, which will start being delivered by the end of May.

Founded in 2008, Wuxi Yoyong Sensing Inc is a high-tech enterprise specializing in sensor design, research, development, sales and technical services. Its products are widely used in industrial control, automotive electronics, medical equipment, the aviation industry and other fields.

In September 2020, the company was selected from among 15 qualified enterprises to carry out a task for the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute. After 14 months of work, it became the only firm in China to achieve mass production of such pressure sensor chips for ventilators.
