Wuxi hosted an online business promotion meeting with Japanese electronic component manufacturer Murata on Jan 26.

Wuxi Party Secretary Du Xiaogang talked to Norio Nakajima, president of Murata, to strengthen future cooperation.

According to Du, the Wuxi branch of Murata has contributed to the city's economic development. Du said he expected both sides to promote a new round of investment plans for Wuxi Murata Electronics and implement follow-up projects as soon as possible so as to consolidate Murata's globally leading position in the field of ceramic capacitors.

The two sides plan to make good use of the opportunities brought about by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement and business promotion polices released by local industrial parks and government to increase investment and trade. Murata also hopes to cooperate with more local enterprises in Wuxi to build up a complete industrial chain.

Norio Nakajima spoke highly of the business environment and government services of Wuxi, as effective epidemic prevention and control measures have helped the company operate smoothly.Murata Electronics was built in the Singapore Industrial Park of Wuxi National Hi-tech District in 1994, and was one of the first foreign companies to set up operations in Wuxi. The company manufactures electronic components, mainly multilayer ceramic capacitors. In 2021, its sales totaled about 15 billion yuan ($2.36 billion) in Wuxi.
