WND sees increase in industrial output

The Wuxi National Hi-tech District achieved a new breakthrough in economic development by working to send people back to work, local media reported on Dec 9.

Statistics show that from January to November this year, the output value of industries above designated size in WND reached 501.09 billion yuan ($78.66 billion), exceeding 500 billion yuan for the first time.

The added value of industries above designated size in WND was 133.14 billion yuan from January to October, accounting for 33.2 percent of the city's total and making up 41.2 percent of the city's total added value growth.

In addition, the total output value of industrial strategic emerging industries accounted for 58.5 percent of total industrial output value, ranking first in the city.

From January to October, the total profit of enterprises above designated size in WND increased by 15.7 percent yearly to reach 37.83 billion yuan, which was 5.7 percentage points higher than that of the city and accounted for 35.5 percent of the city's total.

Focusing on the "6+2+X" modern industrial layout, WND is working to develop its industries, discover the driving force behind innovation, accelerate improvements in the quality and efficiency of traditional competitive industries, and carry out a forward-looking layout for emerging industries, aiming to lead the development of a modern society in Wuxi, according to officials.
