A total of 1,206 enterprises working in science and technology industries started their businesses in Wuxi Taihuwan Science and Technology City in the first 10 months of the year, local media reported on Dec 2.

Focusing on the "6+2+X" modern industrial layout of Wuxi National Hi-tech District, the science and technology city works to attract investment for key industrial projects, such as those in the digital economy, integrated circuits, as well as biomedicine circuits.

From January to October, 196 digital economy projects, 43 integrated circuit enterprise projects, 21 biomedical projects, 154 software enterprise projects, and 90 low-carbon enterprise projects were launched in the science and technology city. China's first special food technology innovation center and the first tens of billions of the carbon neutral special fund were also landed.

In the first three quarters of this year, with the support of big data and cloud computing technology, the revenue of the core industries of the digital economy featuring new manufacturing and new services increased by 23.6 percent year-on-year in the science and technology city, which was 7.7 percentage points higher than that of WND. The revenue of the integrated circuits industry, which focuses on high-performance integrated circuit design and supporting facilities, increased by 69.43 percent year-on-year.

In addition, the overall planning for the science and technology city continues to expand. The landscape design of core blocks and public buildings, such as meeting centers, theaters, as well as sports centers, have improved.
