Four IC design projects signed in WND

A signing ceremony for the Xinhuo platform's integrated circuit design projects was held in Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Nov 18.

Agreements on four projects from IC design companies Wuxi Xindai Technology, Wuxi Jianxin Semiconductor, Boyue Microelectronics (Jiangsu), and Wuxi Nano-Core Chip were signed at the ceremony.

The signed projects cover products like 5G and wi-fi dual-standard baseband chips, biomedical microcontrollers, as well as ultra-low power AIoT system-on-chips.

It is expected that the total investment scale will be around 800 million yuan ($125.28 million) over the next five years, revenue is expected to reach 1.9 billion yuan, and the number of core technology patents will exceed 150.

The Xinhuo platform is a new service platform built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the field of information technology, with integrated circuits as its core.

Cui Rongguo, director of the management committee of WND, said that as a hub in the IC industry, WND has formed a development pattern spanning the entire industrial chain covering IC design, wafer manufacturing, packaging and testing, as well as equipment materials.

Cui added that the signed projects have a high level of talents, excellent technical levels, and great market potential. With the support of the special policies oriented to the IC industry in the zone, these projects are expected to promote the high-quality development of the IC design industry, as well as promote the integration of the IC industrial chain and innovation chain.
