Six WND-based firms listed on Shanghai's STAR Market

Wuxi National Hi-tech District ranked sixth among national high-tech districts in terms of the amount of companies listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, also known as the STAR Market, of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with a total of six companies.

Wuxi ETEK Microelectronics Co Ltd was the city's first company to make their debut on the STAR Market in 2021. Based in WND, the company planned to raise money for high-performance power conversion, R&D, as well as industrialization of driver chip and high-performance power protection chips. The funds will also be spent on R&D center construction and reserve projects.

In June, China Resources Microelectronics Limited reported 100.2 billion yuan ($15.51 billion) in market value, making it the first listed company in WND with a market value of over 100 billion yuan.

At present, the output value of strategic emerging, high-tech manufacturing, and high-tech industries in WND have increased to 49.7 percent, 52.5 percent, and 68.5 percent of the industrial output value above designated size, ranking first in the city.

The district has also been actively implementing the plan for increasing the number of innovative enterprises. A total of 177 enterprises based in WND are expected to be included in the first batch of "young eagle enterprises," "gazelle enterprises," and "quasi-unicorn enterprises" to be cultivated in Wuxi in 2021, according to a report recently released by the Wuxi science and technology bureau.
