WND hosts conference on urban development, cooperation

Wuxi National Hi-tech District hosted the 2019 Urban Development Cooperation Conference on Aug 15, promoting key areas to investors.

Over 200 participants were briefed on the district's location advantages, transport resources, industrial functions and the cultural origins of WND. The planning, urban intentions and supporting facilities of five key areas were detailed.

As a high-tech park, WND plays host to five industrial clusters that are highly concentrated.

Last year, WND's GDP exceeded 180 billion yuan ($25.5 billion), ranking second in Wuxi. The construction of Huahong's Wuxi integrated circuit facility and the second phase of facilities for SK Hynix are expected to make the district a leader in integrated circuits with an annual IC output value exceeding 100 billion yuan nationwide.

Officials said WND has witnessed increasing house prices in the Yangyaowan area and Shuofang subdistrict this year.

Hong Yanwei, vice Party secretary of WND, said a total of 30 kindergartens, primary and secondary schools are under construction in the district, while 3.56 billion yuan will be invested to build, renovate and expand 55 kindergartens, primary and secondary schools.

During the conference, representatives from SK Hynix (China) and Sunac Wuxi also shared their perspectives and experiences on investing in WND.
