New Materials
Wuxi National Hi-tech District takes metal materials, optoelectronic materials and non-metallic materials as one of its development directions. The leading enterprises in the field such as Osram Opto Semiconductors (China) Co., Wuxi Sharp Electronic Components Co., and Zhuhua Electronic Materials Technology (Wuxi) Co., are settled in the district.
Wuxi National Hi-tech District offers preferential policies to projects that have advanced technology, concrete advantages, and have a driving and supporting role in promoting the district's economic development.
New Energy
The New Energy, with the solar photovoltaic (PV) and crystalline silicon solar cells as the core products, includes single crystal pulling and polycrystalline ingot casting, slice polishing, solar cells and components production, solar application systems and photovoltaic manufacturing equipment. The PV technology ranks first in China and the conversion rate of crystalline silicon components has reached 18.5 percent.
The district is offering subsidies to enterprises who establish photovoltaic power systems on their building roofs. Residents using the distributed photovoltaic power products produced from local enterprises will enjoy a subsidy of two yuan per watt. The photovoltaic products that have more than 50 percent of the localization rate can enjoy a one-off subsidy of 200,000 yuan per megawatts. To promote the upgrading of photovoltaic enterprise, the photovoltaic enterprises that implement mergers and reorganization can get subsidy worth up to 10 million yuan. To introduce more photovoltaic enterprises, the district encourages enterprises to invest in photovoltaic power station projects or EPC contracts abroad by offering them incentives worth up to two million yuan.
