The Kyoto-based Murata is a Japanese high-end electronics component supplier, which operates in more than 100 countries and regions.

It set up its Wuxi branch --- Wuxi Murata Electronics CO., in Oct 1995. With a total investment of $562 million, and covering an area of 109,000 square meters, it mainly engages in producing ceramic capacitor, ceramic filter and thermistor. Its 2014 sales volume reached 3.5 billion yuan ($559 million), up 40 percent from 2013.
