Huahong's Wuxi IC Base to open in September

Shanghai Huahong Integrated Circuit Wuxi IC Base witnessed the arrival of its first batch of lithography machines for the 12-inch production line on June 6.

Li Xiaomin, Party chief of the Wuxi Municipal People's Government, and Huang Qin, deputy Party secretary and mayor of Wuxi, attended the ceremony and expressed their congratulations.

Wang Jinjian, Party secretary of Wuxi National Hi-tech District, noted in his speech that since the base started construction on March 2, 2018, all work has been completed ahead of schedule.

With a total investment of $10 billion, the largest investment Huahong has made in the city, the base will support applications in emerging fields such as smart terminals, 5G communications, internet of things and automotive electronics.

It took only 14 months between completing construction to the installation of electromechanical equipment, breaking the world record of 15 months.

Wang Jing, president of Huahong Group, said that with the installation of major processing equipment, Huahong's Wuxi base will further optimize the project plan and strengthen construction coordination to achieve its early completion and production.

The base is scheduled to be put into operation in September this year, which will lead to the establishment of an integrated circuit industrial cluster in Wuxi and support China's semiconductor industry.
