(chinadaily.com.cn)Updated: 2018-09-30

According to the "2018 Best 50 CEOs of Chinese-listed companies" released by Forbes China on Sept 25, Wang Yanqing, chairman of Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Company, ranking 46th and was the only person listed from the high-end equipment manufacturing industry.

Ma Huateng of Tencent and Zhang Yong of Alibaba placed first and second respectively.

After going public in 2015, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Company became the world's largest producer of lithium batteries, manufacturing about 80 percent of iPhone batteries.

Lithium batteries are now widely used in smartphones, cameras and even electric vehicles. Tesla, the leader in new energy cars, also utilizes lithium batteries produced by Lead's machines.

Though many people may not be familiar with this enterprise, it does cooperate with many giants in the electronics industry, such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony. The company focuses on developing advanced autonomous production facilities, which is the foundation of predominantly machine-operated workshops.

In July, it began construction of its semiconductor and fuel cell manufacturing base, making it the domestic leader in research and development in this area.
