Wuxi private enterprises perform outstandingly

Wuxi city had 21 enterprises enter the list of Jiangsu province's top 100 private enterprises in 2017, followed by Suzhou and Nanjing.

The list was released by Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission and Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce. The enterprises on the list were ranked based on their operation incomes.

The minimum operation income for enterprises to enter the list was 11.26 billion yuan ($1.7 billion), increased by 540 million yuan from the previous year. Among the 100 shortlisted private enterprises, nine had an operation income of more than 100 billion yuan, three more than 2016.

The Wuxi-based apparel manufacturer Heilan Group, ranked eighth on the list. The rankings of another two textile enterprises, Hodo Group and Sunshine Group, were 15th and 26th. Chemical enterprise Chengxing Group took the 13th position, the highest in its field in Jiangsu. Private enterprises also performed well in the fields of machinery and metallurgy. The electronic stainless steel trading center ranked 63rd.

Zhou Wendong, director of Wuxi Economic and Information Technology Commission, spoke highly of the 21 enterprises by saying that they had made great contributions to the city's economic development.
